Veteran Municipal Advisor to Address Philly Analysts Meeting

Tom Becket, senior vice president at NW Financial Group, will deliver a presentation called "What an Issuer's Financial Advisor Wants a Bond Investor to Know" at the May 7 meeting of the Philadelphia Area Municipal Analyst Society.

Becket, who has been advising bond issuers for the past quarter century, is planning to discuss topics facing municipal analysts today including disclosure of direct loans, the Municipalities Continuing Disclosure Cooperation Initiative requirements on small borrowers and the credit rating process. Becket has worked the last two years at NW Financial, which is a full-service financial advisory firm that specializes in governmental clients.

"There are very important credit factors emanating from the investor/issuer/financial adviser dynamic in the municipal bond market right now," said Tom Kozlik, director and credit analyst at Janney Capital Markets. "We thought it was important to hear first-hand about the dynamic from someone who has been advising municipal issuers since the Reagan administration."

The PhAMAS meeting is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at the Great American Pub on 4 West Ave. in Wayne, Pa. Persons interested in attending the April 9 PhAMAS meeting should contact Kozlik at tkozlik@janney.com.
