The Tucson City Council voted unanimously last week to hire Kelly Gottschalk, vice president and director of research for Stifel, Nicolaus & Co., Denver, as the city’s new finance director.
Gottschalk served as finance director of Arvada, Colo., for 10 years before joining Stifel Nicolaus as a public finance investment banker specializing in debt financing and financial analysis for tax-exempt entities.
She replaces interim finance director Silvia Amparano, who has served in the position since January when Frank Abeyta resigned.
