The Treasury Department yesterday said it will auction $12 billion of nine-year, 11-month notes on Sept. 11.
The auction is a reopening of the 10-year notes dated Aug. 15 and due Aug. 15, 2018. About $23.339 billion of the notes are outstanding.
Treasury also said yesterday it will sell $23 billion of four-week discount bills today. There are currently $45.006 billion of four-week, or 28-day, bills outstanding. The bills have an issue date of Sept. 11 and are due Oct. 9.
Federal Reserve banks hold $6.285 billion in maturing bills in their own accounts.
