Rasheia Johnson, a senior vice president at Siebert Brandford Shank & Co., will be the next Philadelphia treasurer.

Johnson, who heads the firm's Philadelphia office, will replace outgoing treasurer Nancy Winkler, Philadelphia Mayor-elect Jim Kenney announced Dec. 9.

Prior to her current role with Siebert that began in September, Johnson worked in the municipal finance department at Loop Capital Markets where she advised issuers in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland and North and South Carolina. She has managed more than $7 billion in transactions over the course of her public finance career, according to Kenney, who will be sworn in Jan. 4.

"Rasheia Johnson has a proven record of leadership and excellence working in both the government and public finance sectors," Kenney said.

She has also worked for the City of Philadelphia as assistant to the director of finance for debt management.

"Her technical and analytical expertise will aid her as she maintains the fiscal stability of our city," Kenney said.

Kenney also tapped for the budget director position Anna Wallace Adams, who is currently chief of staff in the city's finance department and previously was deputy budget director under outgoing Mayor Michael Nutter. In addition, he announced that Catherine Paster will continue in the role of deputy finance director that she has held the last eight years.
