Robert Moore, a credit analyst professional with over 35 years of experience in public finance, died Friday, May 17 in Manhattan, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was 61.

Mr. Moore had been currently employed by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) where he brought his intellect and wealth of knowledge to bear, often lightened with his sense of humor, his industry colleagues said. His career included employment with MBIA, Ambac and Radian.

“I worked with Bob at MBIA,” said Dan Berger, Municipal Market Strategist at Refinitiv Municipal Market Data. “He was a good and diligent credit analyst and will be missed by a lot of people.”

Mr. Moore received a B.A. degree in political science from SUNY Albany, an M.P.A. from Syracuse University Maxwell School of Public Affairs and an M.B.A. from the NYU Stern School of Business.

He was an avid runner and for many years participated in the 5K JPMorgan Corporate Challenge. He also enjoyed photography, watching classic movies, reading, skiing, gardening and spending time with family and friends at Cape Cod.

Whether in work, running or in his personal life, Mr. Moore was always willing to “go the distance” and will be greatly missed.

In his memory, donations can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, N.Y., 12078.
