Illinois regulators last week approved nonprofit Chicago-based Resurrection Health Care’s sale of two suburban Chicago hospitals to Tennessee-based for-profit Vanguard Health Systems.
The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board’s action allows the two systems to proceed with the $40 million deal. The transaction would put West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park and Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park in the hands of a for-profit operator.
Vanguard will upgrade the facilities.
