BRADENTON, Fla. — Raymond James has hired banker Todd Barnes to join the firm's public finance group in Atlanta.

Barnes, a managing director, will primarily focus on issuers in Georgia and South Carolina, according to Rob Baird, executive vice president and head of public finance/debt investment banking.

"Todd is a skilled banker with broad experience and deep knowledge across multiple sectors," said Baird. "With 34 years of public finance experience in the Southeast, his familiarity with the region will help to provide innovative, quality financing solutions to municipal issuers across Georgia and South Carolina."

Barnes previously worked at Robert W. Baird & Co. as managing director and manager of public finance for the southeastern region.

His experience includes serving as the lead manager on more than $6 billion of bond financings for local governments throughout the Southeast.

"The synergies that will come from being a part of this team with the underwriting, sales, and trading professionals like we have in Atlanta will be a tremendous benefit for my clients," Barnes said in a statement.

Barnes received a degree from the University of Georgia. He is a member of the Georgia Government Finance Officers Association.

Raymond James Financial Inc., headquartered in St. Petersburg, Fla., said it has more than 180 public finance professionals in 27 locations nationwide.

The firm provides private client, capital markets, asset management, banking, and other services primarily in the United States and Canada.
