Poley to head Hawkins Delafield & Wood’s North Carolina office

Jeffrey Poley has joined Hawkins Delafield & Wood LLP as it opens an office in Raleigh, North Carolina, the firm announced on Tuesday.

The new office is the firm’s first in the Southeast region.

Poley’s practice is focused primarily on financings for hospitals, higher education institutions and continuing care retirement communities.

“The opportunity to welcome a new partner and open an office in North Carolina is very exciting,” said John Renken, a member of the firm’s management committee. “Hawkins has a highly collaborative, problem-solving, and client-focused firm culture — and Jeff is a great fit. Poley received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law (Chapel Hill) and his B.A. from Duke University.

For over 150 years, Hawkins Delafield & Wood has been a leader in municipal finance law. It was founded in 1854 and gained a reputation for its expertise in the area of governmental finance.

Today, the firm still ranks as one of the nation's top bond and underwriter counsels.
