Pending home sales decreased to a reading of 82.3 in November from a downwardly revised 85.7 in October, originally reported as 88.9, according to an index released yesterday by the National Association of Realtors.
Thomson Reuters’ poll of economists had predicted an 88.0 reading.
Year-over-year the pending homes sales index was off 5.3% in November.
Regionally, pending sales were lower. The West saw a 2.4% decrease, while sales slipped 6.7% in the Midwest, 7.2% in the Northeast, and 2.2% in the South.
