Moody's Waiting on Indianapolis Schools' Audit

CHICAGO – Moody's Investors Service has placed Indianapolis Public Schools' Aa2 rating under review with its direction uncertain due to the lack of current financial information provided to the rating agency.

The action impacts $166 million of outstanding debt.

"The review is prompted by the lack of sufficient, current audited financial information," Moody's said in a report published Dec. 1. "If the information is not received over the next 30 days, we will take appropriate rating action which could include the withdrawal or lowering of the ratings."
