WASHINGTON – Lisa Washburn, a managing director with Municipal Market Analytics, is the new chair for the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.

Washburn, whose one-year term as chair started on Jan. 1, replaced Jennifer Johnston, vice president and research analyst in Franklin Templeton Investments' municipal bond department, according to an announcement from the NFMA on Tuesday. Johnston remains on NFMA's executive board for another year in an advisory capacity.

Washburn has been on the NFMA board since 2008 and over that time has served as an Industry Practices Committee chair and an annual conference chair for the organization. She also chaired the Membership, Finance, and Education Committees and represented the NFMA on industry-wide initiatives, including the Bank Loan Disclosure Task Force that issued a white paper on bank loan disclosure in 2013.

Julie Egan, senior vice president and portfolio manager at Community Capital Management, is NFMA's new vice president after serving as the group's treasurer in 2015. She has served as chair of the Finance, Sponsorship, and Membership Committees for NFMA.

Mary Francoeur, managing director with Assured Guaranty, moved into the role of treasurer for 2016 after chairing the Education Committee and the group's annual conference in 2015.

Scott Andreson, director of municipal bond credit research for Seix Investment Advisors, replaced Francoeur as Education Committee chair and chair of the annual conference. The 2016 conference is scheduled to take place May 3-6 in Chicago.

The NFMA was founded in 1983 and comprises some 1,400 members who are mainly research analysts tasked with evaluating municipal credits.
