Title: Financial Analyst
Firm: NYS Environmental Facilities Corp.
Age: 37
Kevin Boomhower is a financial analyst who provides disclosure documents for all official statements and annual statements along with structuring of the New York State Environmental Facilities Corp.'s municipal bond offerings. In the six years he has been with EFC, he has been promoted twice.
Kevin believes water infrastructure is a basic necessity and the work EFC does is helping all communities in the state meet that need. He says that by structuring loans and helping communities realize their capacity, EFC becomes part of the solution for providing clean and available water.
Previously, he worked in annuities and grew to love investments as well as financial statements and helping others understanding how their products worked.
When he joined EFC six years ago, he was eager to learn and develop his skills with a growing team. Today, he is leading and contributing to the everyday production of preparing for issuances, preparing statements, structuring bonds, and frequently being called to new responsibilities and challenges.
Kevin said he is someone who believes that if you work hard for it, you will appreciate it more and that if a goal is worth setting, then it's worth striving after.
Kevin's work ethic can be traced back to his background as a hockey player in school. Being on the ice from a young age and through college, it's impossible to avoid a philosophy that drills into you "don't quit when you're tired, quit when you're done," he said.
A little-known fact about Kevin is that he is also known as "Pastor Kevin" at New Hope for Life Ministries in upstate Nassau, New York. Assuming the position of senior pastor is a fairly new role for Kevin, but much like his role at EFC, he approaches his faith-based responsibilities with perseverance and diligence.
Kevin holds a BBA from SUNY Canton in finance and an MBA from University at Albany.
