WASHINGTON – Julie Egan, senior vice president and portfolio manager with Community Capital Management, is the new chair for the National Federation of Municipal Analysts, the group announced Tuesday.

Egan, who started her one-year term on Jan. 1, replaced Lisa Washburn, managing director with Municipal Market Analytics. Washburn will remain on NFMA's executive committee for the year in an advisory capacity.

Egan works in the Charlotte office of Florida-based Community Capital Management where she is primarily responsible for municipal credit analysis and research. She also works with the firm's portfolio management team in structuring new deals on behalf of clients.

An NFMA board member since 2008, Egan has chaired the group's sponsorship, membership, finance, and education committees. She served as the group's vice chair in 2016 and as the organization's treasurer in 2015.

Prior to joining Community Capital Management, Egan worked as a senior municipal research analyst and director at Evergreen Asset Management Corp., Wachovia's asset management arm. She has also worked as a senior municipal research analyst for John Nuveen & Co. in Chicago. Egan has a bachelor of business administration in finance from Kent State University and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.

Mary Francoeur is vice chair for the group this year, NFMA announced. Francoeur is a managing director with PFM Financial Advisors and is also serving as the group's membership chair this year.

Scott Andreson, director of municipal credit research for New Jersey-based Seix Investment Advisors, is NFMA's treasurer. Nicole Byrd, senior investment professional with Nationwide Insurance, is the group's new secretary. Byrd has co-chaired NFMA efforts to update its recommended best practices on disclosure for states and local governments.
