Initial jobless claims rose 2,000 to 216,000 in the week ended November 10, the Labor Department said Thursday. The claims figure for the week ended November 3 was unrevised at 214,000. Continuing jobless claims were 1.676 million in the week ended November 3, up 46,000 from 1.630 million the week before.
IFR Markets expected 215,000 initial claims.

The four-week average of initial claims was up 1,500 in the week ended November 10 to 215,250.
