Title: Director
Firm: Masterson Advisors
Age: 39
As an economics major at the University of Texas, Jennifer Arndt went to every job fair on campus, unsure of what she wanted to do after graduation. There she met public finance representatives from First Southwest and it sparked an interest. "I didn't even know this was an industry that existed. I didn't think there was a place to marry finance, investment banking and public policy. I found my calling," said Arndt.
She spent most of her career at PFM until moving to Masterson Advisors almost two years ago to join former colleagues. "It's full circle. I am working with some new teammates and old colleagues, and everyone is delightful," said Arndt. "Our company is only six years old, and I am fired up about the team and growing the business."
The Masterson team is very happy to have her onboard. "She was running charter school deals within a week of joining us even though she had never done a charter school deal before," said Drew Masterson, CEO of Masterson Advisors. "She is an incredibly versatile advisor with deep credit and transaction experience with large cities, transit agencies, toll roads, public health agencies, and more."
"Everyone who works with her loves her because she is proactive, responsive, detail-oriented, insightful, caring and great at communicating," Masterson said. "She has really allowed us to continue to grow our client base and serve our existing clients better."
Doing the right thing is what drives Arndt.
"When we get it right, it gets more money back to the schools and communities we all live in. If you can save them some money, it can mean available funds to hire another teacher or firefighter. When we do our best work, we make people's lives better," she said.
