Inflows Highest in Three Weeks

Inflows for all municipal bond funds rose to their highest levels in the last three weeks.

Funds that report weekly said inflows rose to $648 million for the week ending Aug.13 from $16.6 million the week before, according to Lipper FMI.

Assets of all weekly reporting municipal funds increased to $296 billion from $294.9 billion. The four-week moving average inflow rose to $442 million from $319.8 million.

Long-term municipal mutual funds that report their flows weekly had an inflow of $306.5 million, following an outflow of $64.8 million the previous week, Lipper said.

Those assets increased to $159.1 billion from $158.8 billion. The four-week moving average of the long-term fund was an inflow of 201.2 million, up from $77.4 million last week.

High yield fund inflows accelerated to $266.1 million from $60.3 million the week before.

Assets increased to $448.6 billion from $445 billion. The four-week moving average was $215 million, up from $133.9 million.
