Intercontinental Exchange Inc. has hired Pierce Lord from Bloomberg LP’s BVAL to focus on developing ICE's analytics offering, as it ramps up its efforts in evaluating fixed income markets. The move brings another high-profile figure into a changing municipal benchmarking universe.
Lord will be director of fixed income analytics at ICE, which is also the owner of the New York Stock Exchange.
He previously was global head of corporate, government and municipal valuation at Bloomberg’s BVAL.
“As we continue to expand our solutions into the front office, we’re excited to add to our already strong team with the addition of Pierce Lord to our analytics leadership,” Lynn Martin, president and COO of ICE Data Services, said in a statement.
Lord said he was looking forward to the move after taking some time off. He left BVAL on Aug. 1.
"In a very short period of time, ICE has become a key player in providing evaluations and analytics for the fixed income markets,” Lord said. “Recent product launches, including a new municipal index and yield curve, demonstrate the exciting advances ICE is making in fixed income. I look forward to joining the team and helping advance this effort."
