Hunton & Williams taps G. Scott Rafshoon as a partner in Atlanta

BRADENTON, Fla. - Hunton & Williams LLP continues to expand its practice with the addition of G. Scott Rafshoon as a partner in the firm’s Atlanta office.

Rafshoon’s practice will focus on public-private partnerships, infrastructure and privatization projects, in addition to mergers and acquisitions and other corporate matters, the firm said.

“Scott brings experience with innovative infrastructure privatization and significant M&A work,” said Thomas Hiner, co-head of the firm’s corporate team. “His practice is a great complement to our PPP practice and to our corporate finance team, which regularly handle complex national transactions.”

Most recently, Rafshoon worked at Dentons LLP as a partner and a leader of its infrastructure and P3 practice.

In addition to his work in the privatization field, Rafshoon has been involved in the redevelopment of military housing facilities at more than 50 military bases nationwide.

Rafshoon has led negotiations with the U.S. military agencies; third-party construction, engineering and design firms; and private sources of capital to close complex P3 transactions, according to Hunton.

He also has advised clients on university student housing financings and higher education infrastructure projects.

Rafshoon is an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law, where he teaches contract drafting and deal skills. He received a degree from Dartmouth College, and a law degree from Emory University School of Law.
