WASHINGTON - Cynthia Weed of K&L Gates in Seattle has been re-elected president of the American College of Bond Counsel for the coming year.
Virginia Benjamin of Calfee, Halter & Griswold has been re-elected vice president, Susan Weeks of Foley & Judell in New Orleans will continue to serve as treasurer and John Van Duys of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd in Columbia, S.C. will remain secretary, the college said in a news release.
Directors elected to serve another three-year term are: Charles Henck of Ballard Spahr in Washington; Alan Raynor of McCall, Parkhurst & Horton in Dallas; John Scally of Chiesa Shahinian Giantomasi in West Orange, N.J.; and Elizabeth Weber, general counsel to the Illinois Finance Authority in Chicago.
Todd Meierhenry of Meierhenry Sargent in Sioux Falls, S.D. has been elected as a new director, the group said.
In addition, those to continue serving as directors in the coming year whose terms have not yet expired include: Todd Cooper of Squire Patton Boggs in Cincinnati; Philip Genetos of Ice Miller in Indianapolis; William Holby of King & Spalding in Atlanta; William Noth of Ahlers & Cooney in Des Moines, Iowa; Robert Dean Pope of Hunton & Williams in Richmond, Va.; Lisa Soeder of Soeder & Associates in Hartford, Conn.; and Harriet Welch of Squire Patton Boggs in Los Angeles.
Eleven lawyers were unanimously elected by the directors to become new fellows of the college. They are: Bruce Agin of Ice Miller in Chicago; B. Douglas Earthman of Glankler Brown in Memphis, Tenn.; Joy Eillis of Norton Rose Fulbright in Dallas; Stefanie Galey of Faegre Baker Daniels in Minneapolis; David Goodman of Squire Patton Boggs in Cleveland; Samuel Roderick Kanter of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings in Birmingham, Ala.; Nicholas Miller of Hawley Troxell Ennis & Hawley in Boise, Idaho; Barbara Portwood of Stinson Leonard Street in Minneapolis; Thomas Sage of Andrews Kurth in Houston; Chuck Toto of Hawkins Delafield & Wood in Newark, N.J.; and Richard Wright of Gilmore & Bell in Kansas City, Mo.
The directors were elected at the group's annual meeting in Chicago on Tuesday. The officers were elected at a meeting of the new board on Thursday. The college is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
