The Chicago Fed Midwest manufacturing index slipped 0.4% in February to a seasonally adjusted level of 83.8 after the January report showed a revised 6.7% decrease to 84.2, originally reported as 5.9% drop to 85.6, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago reported today.
Nationally, the Federal Reserve Board’s industrial production index for manufacturing fell 0.7% in February. Overall manufacturing output in the region dropped 22.2% from a year earlier, compared to a 13.8% decline in output nationally in that period.
