Bond Buyer Indexes Narrowly Strengthen

The weekly average yield to maturity of The Bond Buyer Municipal Bond Index, which is based on 40 long-term bond prices, increased to 4.35% from 4.33% from the previous week.

The Bond Buyer's 20-Bond GO Index of 20-year general obligation yields were five basis points lower to 3.83% from 3.88% in the prior week. It is at its lowest level since Dec. 8, when it was at 3.78%.

The 11-Bond GO Index of higher-grade 20-year GO yields dropped six basis points to 3.36% from 3.42% in the previous week. It is at its lowest level in three weeks, when it was at 3.33%.

The Bond Buyer's Revenue Bond Index fell three basis points to 3.96% from 3.99% last week. It is at its lowest level since Dec. 8, when it was at 3.87%.

The yield on the U.S. Treasury's 10-year note lost five basis points to 2.55% from 2.60%, while the yield on the Treasury's 30-year bond decreased four basis points to 3.12% from 3.16% in the prior week.
