Bond Buyer Indexes Mostly Unchanged

The weekly average yield to maturity of The Bond Buyer Municipal Bond Index, which is based on 40 long-term bond prices, was unchanged at 4.22% for the week ended Dec. 30 from the previous week.

The Bond Buyer's 20-Bond GO Index of 20-year general obligation yields was unchanged from 3.57% in the previous week. It has now been unchanged for five weeks and remains at its lowest level since April 23, when it stood at 3.52%.

The 11-Bond GO Index of higher-grade 20-year GO yields was steady from 3.08% in the prior week. It has been steady for the past five weeks and it is at its lowest level since Jan. 15.

The Bond Buyer's Revenue Bond Index was three basis points lower to 3.93% from 3.97% in the prior week. This sets a new lowest level since the index was started in 1979.

The yield on the U.S. Treasury's 10-year note up five basis points to 2.30% from 2.25%, while the yield on the Treasury's 30-year bond was up nine basis points at 3.05% from 2.96% in the previous week.
