Bond Buyer Indexes Mostly Strengthen

The weekly average yield to maturity of The Bond Buyer Municipal Bond Index, which is based on 40 long-term bond prices, decreased four basis points to 3.76% from 3.80% in the previous week.

The Bond Buyer's 20-Bond GO Index of 20-year general obligation was one basis point lower to 2.84% from 2.85% from the prior week. It is at its lowest level in six weeks.

The 11-Bond GO Index of higher-grade 20-year GO yields dropped one basis point to 2.42% from 2.43% from the previous week. It is at its lowest level since July 14 when it was at 2.39%.

The Bond Buyer's Revenue Bond Index was unchanged from 3.06% last week. It is at its highest level since June 23 when it was at 3.08%.

The yield on the U.S. Treasury's 10-year note was three basis points lower to 1.54% from 1.57%, while the yield on the Treasury's 30-year decreased two basis points to 2.26% from 2.28% last week.
