Bond Buyer Indexes Climb

The weekly average yield to maturity of The Bond Buyer Municipal Bond Index, which is based on 40 long-term bond prices, gained five basis points to 3.79% from 3.74% in the previous week.

The Bond Buyer's 20-Bond GO Index of 20-year general obligation was seven basis points higher to 2.87%, from 2.80% the prior week. It is at its highest level in five weeks, when it was at 2.90%.

The 11-Bond GO Index of higher-grade 20-year GO yields increased six basis points to 2.45%, from 2.39% the previous week. It is at its highest level since June 23 when it was at 2.49%.

The Bond Buyer's Revenue Bond Index rose eight basis points to 3.06%, from 2.98% last week. It is at its highest level since June 23 when it was at 3.08%.

The yield on the U.S. Treasury's 10-year note was three basis points higher to 1.56% from 1.53%, while the yield on the Treasury's 30-year increased five basis points to 2.29% from 2.24% last week.
