Bond Buyer Indexes Are Steady to Stronger

The weekly average yield to maturity of the Bond Buyer Municipal Bond Index, which is based on 40 long-term bond prices, dropped three basis points in the week ending October 2 to 4.40%.

The 20-Bond GO Index of 20-year general obligation yields held steady at 4.11%, the same as Sept. 18, 2014.

The 11-Bond GO Index of higher-grade 20-year GO yields held steady at 3.69%, the same as Sept. 18, 2014.

The Bond Buyer's 25-bond Revenue Bond Index fell six basis points to 4.72%, the lowest since June 19.

The yield on the U.S. Treasury's 10-year note declined seven basis points to 2.44%, the lowest since August 28, 2013.

The yield on the Treasury's 30-year bond dropped seven basis points to 3.22%, the lowest since September 4, 2014.
