November toll traffic on the Atlantic City Expressway was down 1% from the year-earlier period, according to a report from the South Jersey Transportation Authority.

The highway had 3,640,616 toll transactions for the month compared to 3,674,327 in November 2014, according to the report. Total toll transactions for 2015 through November were slightly down from 2014 at 47,202,158 from 47,257,738 a year earlier.

Casino bus traffic on the expressway tumbled 22% in November from a year ago with passengers numbers off 16%, the report said. Passenger traffic on New Jersey Transit's Atlantic City line was up 0.6% compared to November 2014 but is down 2.6% for the year so far.

The drops in Atlantic City traffic this year come after four of its casinos closed in 2014. The city, which was placed under emergency manager supervision in January by Gov. Chris Christie, is rated Caa1 by Moody's Investors Service and B by Standard & Poor's.

The South Jersey Transportation Authority is rated Baa2 with a negative outlook by Moody's and BBB-plus with a stable outlook by Fitch Ratings. The authority last raised tolls on the Atlantic City Expressway in November 2008 to $1.47, according to Fitch.
