The news was sent around via an internal memo late last week.

“AP is part of the foundation of Citi, and has served as a model of professionalism and leadership throughout his career,” said the internal memo, which was obtained by The Bond Buyer. “The longevity of his success has been largely due to his personal philosophy of being responsive to client needs and being the best for his clients. On behalf of his colleagues, we are thankful for his many contributions to Citi. Please join us in wishing him well in his retirement.”

AP joined Salomon Brothers as a salesman in Atlanta in 1966, before transferring to the New York office in 1968 as a municipal bond specialist. He then returned to Atlanta one year later to sell corporate bonds.

He was named a vice president in 1976, a director in 1986, and was elevated to his current position of managing director in 1989.

He has covered multiple accounts across products and has been consistently one of the top producers at the firm. He will remain through the spring to ensure a seamless transition of his coverage responsibilities.
